Cortus and RivieraWaves have collaborated to offer a comprehensive set of Bluetooth solutions. These implementations are fully compliance tested and silicon proven and consist of complete hardware, analogue/RF and software stack components that allow the simple and easy addition of Bluetooth wireless technology to your design.
Cortus and RivieraWaves offer two solutions with optimised architectures adressing two different product strategies:
- Low power platform for Bluetooth centred chip (single CPU)
- “Place and Forget” BlackBox macro for integration into a bigger SoC
Our Low Power solution provides the all building blocks to create a Low Power Bluetooth enabled SoC.
The solution includes a Bluetooth Low Energy Baseband and PHY, an ultra-low power APS3 processor core and peripherals and the full protocol stack.
The development tools (C/C++ Compiler, Debugger, IDE…) are all available at no extra cost ensuring that you get your SoC to market as quickly and easily as possible.
A modular implementation of Bluetooth Low Energy allows only the elements that are required in the design to be included, ensuring a minimal power consumption while retaining maximum design differentiation.

The BlackBox solution encapsulates the hardware, analogue/RF and software into a simple, easy to use block. Add Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR without headaches to your SoC withour “place and forget” block. This is the ideal solution for integration into a complex ASIC such as wireless multi-standard combination SoCs (for example WLAN+WiMAX+BT+FM+GPS) or application/baseband processors.
Just use a simple SPI interface to open up Bluetooth functionality in your design (other interfaces are available).
The BlackBox includes all hardware and software ready to integrate (PHY, Baseband, Protocol Stack).
