Peripheral Bridge
The Peripheral Bridge enables the peripheral bus to run at a different (slower) clock rate than the CPU and memory subsystem.
There are no constrains on the ratio of the clock rates, while the peripheral clock rate remains slower than the CPU clock.
The Peripheral Bridge has the following features:
- Peripheral bus slower than CPU bus
- Any clock ratio
- Make achieving timing easier
- Better system performance
- Lower power consumption
